Why information is used

Collection should support a specific operational need

01

Provide the requested service

Create and secure accounts, review items, preserve customer choices, communicate status, and maintain private records.

02

Administer transactions and fulfillment

Confirm provider-hosted payments, coordinate shipping, document milestones, manage returns, and reconcile refunds or disputes.

03

Protect customers and the platform

Prevent abuse, investigate incidents, enforce access controls, maintain audit records, and recover from operational failures.

04

Respond to support or privacy requests, keep required accounting records, handle claims, comply with law, and improve reliability.

How long information may remain

Retention varies by record and obligation

There is no single retention period for every record. Information is retained only as reasonably necessary for the service, security, support, financial and tax records, disputes, legal holds, and customer-authorized archives. Records should be deleted or de-identified when no longer reasonably necessary unless law permits or requires continued retention.

Active account or order

Generally retained while the account, request, order, or related support matter remains active.

Financial and dispute records

Retained for applicable accounting, tax, refund, dispute, chargeback, claim, or legal periods.

Security and audit records

Retained for the configured security period and longer when connected to an incident, investigation, or legal hold.

Customer content

Retained while needed for the requested service or authorized archive, subject to applicable deletion rights and required holds.

Service providers and disclosures

Information may be shared only for defined functions

Information may be disclosed to configured hosting, email, payment, shipping, storage, security, professional-adviser, and operational providers when needed for their function. It may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect rights or safety, in a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards, or at your direction.
